The Organizing Thesis Statement (OTS)~
What’s your point? and How will you support it?
Suggested Tasks and Examples
Your pet peeve (the thing that bothers you the most) and why?
My pet peeve is spending time with people who are prejudiced as they are close-minded, unethical and annoying.
How your pet is like you?
My cat is like me in three key ways; my cat is sleek, unsociable and huffy; she likes to curl up on a warm bed on a rainy day; we both love food!
How you think of your pet?
I think of one of my eldest dog affectionately, she is my heart shine, my companion and a physical activity partner.
People affectionately refer to each other as “my pet”-consider what this term might mean?
“My pet” is a term of endearment to express affection, love and concern.
Write about a person that you think of as your “pet” and why?
I think of my younger brother as my “pet” as he insists on living near me, catering to my needs and protecting my interests.
How you treat something-a person, yourself, a vehicle-as a “pet.”
I treat my computer as my pet as demonstrated by the large amount of time I spend with it, the care I take to clean it each week and to ensure it is not bothered by parasites.
