Avoid Old World Thinking Patterns

In his battle with Creedy, V primes his dagger...

Twentieth century academia was heavy on the “lone wolf” approach to student learning and Departmental functioning. However, there is just no room for such loping views in the new millennium. Now.  A time for collaboration, sharing and an end to hostilities fueled by a culture of competition and insecurities.

The academic adventure requires one to travel lightly; bounce those steps, commit to your path, network to learn and share.

Mark Joyner of Simpleology provides two vids that highlight the importance of building on previous achievements.I am a member of Mark’s main site. The weekly emails are insightful and very useful for my needs. And, I anticipate, for you the student as well. Hence the posting here ~:-)

A person can become more aware, through knowledge of Kaizan, and apply this model of decision making and behaviours to all spheres of their life. Firstly, one must acknowledge what is being achieved. What goals are being met. From there one looks for the next “inch”.

Gradual improvement is my goal for 2010.Kaizan principles have been around for decades. However it was interesting to learn that the model was originally designed by a North American and was used to aid Japanese industry back into marketplace activity. Interesting…

So now, I am to watch/listen to V for Vendetta on this rainy Saturday morning…and to reflect on the concept of “one inch” as a crimp from which my life hangs. Expect to see a more Kaizan approach to “How to”  downloads at PSI Tutor:Mentor. And I will post more about it as well, as it aligns well with the philosophy behind this resource portal.

Today I am feeling quite motivated, and after some editing work I am will be drafting a booklet about specific ideas to get more out of academic life. With fortune~ I will have steps outlined so that others can follow my path; be inspired to give things a go and to commit to a study management program.

Also, I have just discovered Dropbox. Wonderful. So easy to download, install and use. Feeling very safe. Thank you. Freelance Folder has a wealth of other resources of benefit to tertiary students; generating a source of income from home; organsiation of computer folders; motivation; evaluation; decision-making models; problem-solving tactics and strategies; a bit of fun…and more!

How worried are you about losing your notes and documents on your computer?(1=Not at All  to 5=Extremely)

What inch/s are you seeing around you today?
