Start a Learning Journal in 2009

Journal this Year over at Jenny Ho’s SPM English 1119 sets a classic and achievable goal for students~ reflecting on your place in the world and recording insights. Scrapbooking and blogging are other forms of journalling.
As a language learning tool a journal networks links to schools of thought, theories & models that a student is introduced to in class. Thus, journalling can make new knowledge more relevant to the learner.
Labeling and Naming (language) are great tools for organising info aiding its retrieval and use. Being able to anchor chunks of new information the student can build their own network of associations and degrees of importance.
You can kick start your journal/scrapbook/blog by recording a Glossary of words from those you first hear of in 2009. Think about the history of the words~ who coined them? why now or then? global/domestic use? etc
Then explore with colour, picture, sound even dance what the concepts behind these words represent to you. How are these concepts relevant to your life? To your purpose as a student and career professional?
I’d like to visit your online journals~ share your links in the Comments below…
