Do Good, Feel Good

Feel GoodL Student Health

I have a blend of sites to share with university/college students today. As  a tutor:mentor I am often asked for ways to help a student to focus better, to keep motivated and of course how to do better in assignments and exams.

Often, the  way to success is to support your studies with adjunct activities. The shape of the DNA helix or the benzene molecule, for example, were both realised whilst the thinker was doing something totally not connected to the problem at hand.

An abundance of literature also exists to support feeling good inside is a positive path to achieving life goals.

Here are some ways that you as a student can Do Good and cultivate a sense of Feel Good:

Do Good for the community by “clicking” to give food and care to animal shelters. Sign your email addy with The Animal Rescue Site and each day you just click on the big purple button.

Too simple! Advertisers on the site then contribute monies to purchases of pet foods, vet fees and other pet needs of the shelters. The site also offers some great bargains for animal/pet orientated merchandise.

Tutor suggestions to better academic performance

Create yourself a fitness program Feel Good as you Do Good for your mind-body-spirit. A study reported in Cosmopolitan found that entrepreneurs (not so different from being a student methinks) who exercised regularly, performed better and earned more than those who did not.

It appears from the results that increased confidence and energy that are by-products of a work out “leak” into other areas of life. How great is that for students! Read Does Working Out Make You Wealthy here.

Park the car away from uni and have a 10 minute jog; keep weights (or cans of food/water bottles with sand etc) near the computer and do strength exercises whilst waiting for downloads; push your chair away from the key board and do stretches whilst reading your emails.

Here is at home work out using objects from around the home, vid provided by Bodyweightculturalist:

Finally, Do Good with your hair to Feel Good about yourself as you buzz around uni/college trying to find printers that work, where the lecture has moved to, or trying to make it to the next tute on time :-)

LisaTurly.com is a site I have just discovered and she has heaps of hair styles and tips, with regular people as well as celebs showing good hair. Her blog post, 2009 Spring Trends and Hair Accessories is a great place to start.

For more male orientated hair tips, Fashionising.com has an article worthy of perusal~ Men’s 2009 Hair Trends: Styles, Cuts and Colors.

What are your ideas to Do Good to Feel Good ?

Pretty insightfull post. Never thought that it was this uncomplicated after all. I have spent a good deal of my time looking for someone to explain this topic clearly and you’re the only person that ever did that. Thanks a lot! Keep it up!
